I have these with alarming regularity
I turned my PC on and there was this almighty electric sound crackling and fizzing from the unit. Panicking, I turned off the pc and began trying new wires, checking I had a surge protected socket, yadda yadda.. took me a good 15 minutes to notice the foil packet of tablets resting under some paper ontop of the PC. Turns out the noise it makes when subjected to fan vibrations sounds exactly like you’d imagine it does when a motherboard fries.
panicked again later from *another weird crackling sound coming from the pc. Or maybe it was the slightly open bottle of fizzy pop next to it making sputtering noises.
it’s nice to realize that actually, everything’s fine: you’re just a numpty
